Most UK businesses that talk about being “carbon conscious” are only counting Scope 1 and 2 emissions — the energy they use directly, in their own building. For a coffee roastery, that’s a small slice of the real picture. The coffee itself — how it’s grown, processed and shipped before it even reaches us — is Scope 3, and for a business like ours, it’s the overwhelming majority of our footprint.
We didn’t want to publish a number that only told part of the story. So we calculated all three scopes, and we’re committing to offset all three — not just the easy part.

Here are below the projects that we’ve be been funding, some of which are in partnership with our green coffee importer Algrano. We take full responsibility for our environmental impact by funding a diverse portfolio of verified climate solutions. Every month, our business finances the avoidance of greenhouse gas emissions through certified global projects, supports active tree planting to restore biodiversity, and invests in next-generation green technologies.
The project ensures that indigenous land rights are secured and forest conservation activities are established. Reducing deforestation prevents CO₂ from being released into the atmosphere and secures habitat connectivity for endangered wildlife between the Yaeda Valley and the Ngorongoro Highlands.
This project aims at distributing water purification systems to low-income households and institutions (e.g., schools) in Uganda. Access to clean water improves livelihoods and health conditions of thousands of people and reduces CO₂ emissions by decreasing the consumption of firewood and charcoal.
